Easy read is a form of communication developed primarily, but not exclusively for people with learning disabilities. It uses easy words and images to explain information.
For my work I ran a project for Kent County Council, looking at their easy read communications. To start with I held focus groups, to ask people what information they wanted and the format they wanted it in. I then designed the materials around them, both online and in print.
I use a combination of my own graphics and photo symbols.
